Speaker Bio

Joanne H. Twombly, MSW has extensive experience in working with complex PTSD and Dissociative Disorders and has adapted EMDR and Internal Family Systems for use with people with these disorders. She was on the board of the International Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), is a co-author of ISSTD’s 2011 Treatment Guidelines for DID, and is a past president of the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation. She was awarded ISSTD’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2010 Joanne has published articles in clinical journals and book chapters on DD and EMDR, on EMDR and IFS, and on working with Perpetrator Introjects. Her award-winning book is entitled: Trauma and Dissociation Informed Internal Family Systems. She has a private practice in Arlington, MA where in addition to her work with clients she provides consultation and training.
